Having a Child changed my purpose

I thought that when I became a yoga instructor, that that was going to be my way of life forever. I taught self care, that you need time for you, you gotta put your own oxygen mask on first right?!
blah blah blah blah.
Having Paul has completely changed that.
We are still in sleepless nights. We still cosleep. I still breastfeed.
And every time a voice tries to tear me down, I just think “it’s not my time right now, but the day will come.” It’s not my time for 8 hours of sleep. I will get my body back one day.
One day Paul will be an adult.
One day he is going to want to do his own thing.
It might be years from now, but that’s ok!
Holy moly we rush everything, even the most beautiful parts of our lives.
Being a mom is the most Christian work I have ever experienced. It IS self sacrifice. It is holy work. It is showing up when you have nothing to give, but giving anyway.
I just saw a post earlier that said “you can’t give from an empty cup. But kids are the cup. They are everything around the cup. They are everything in the cup. They are the purpose for life.”
and I could not agree more.
I’m a mom. And I don’t take that lightly.
So my friend, if you are in the THICK of it, remember all the cheesy sayings- “this too, shall pass.” These sayings are around for a reason.
Lock in.
Fix your gaze.
And remember, this is holy work. The most important work.
Thank you to my Sweet P.
For keeping everything in perspective.
Xoxo,
Have a beautiful week family ♥️
